Relation between the word, meaning shape and sound

            As we know, words are around all over the world; letters, ads, newspaper, books, magazines use them. So, words are the most popular mean to communicate with people. No matter if people are close or far. Apart from that, we are used to relate words with a specific meaning, use or purpose. It depends when and where you are using it. One way to learn new words is reading, but now there is a TV program specially for children where they learn new words, its pronunciation, spelling and even they show us a different shape for each word.

                Nowadays, we can learn faster than before due to the global learning, internet and T.V. so, “let’s build a word” focus on that, specially for children between 0-6 years old, English teachers and English students, they focus on catching children’s attention using different colors to build a word, singing and forming a specific figure with the letters of the word.

                This helps us to organize our ideas in order to focus on a good way to teaching and practicing the ability to learn faster easy and simple. And a good tool to go beyond the content of the information and motivate children to learn more about it. Another reason to use it is to develop children’s creativity to let themselves create new figure with their own letters forming a word.

                I think I will use it in class, as a “scrabble”, letting the student build new words with letters and put them to explain the pronunciation, spelling, meaning and the different uses according to the context. I’ll also use songs and some flashy colors to associate sounds with and specific colors.

                All those ways could develop another skill  in order to let themselves learns in the best way they find, easy , so I expect this will be useful for you as a tool to learn new “words”

Pedagogical purpose

Nowadays, English language is an important tool which opens the way to a better future. There are different methods to the teaching and learning process of this useful and important universal language that we as professors in training, have to develop for a better quality of education.

The different methods that the English teaching and learning has is the storytelling, which is the conveying of events in words, images and sounds. Stories or narratives have been shared in every culture as means of entertainment, education and to keer moral values. This method has many pedagogical purposes because through this we are able to teach ethics, values and cultural norms in a social environment.

Worlword T.V program has all this pedagogical purpose to fascinate children and people of diferenta ges wiht words and to empower them by making the important conections between letters, sound and meaning. It could be an excellent tool for English students, because through the storytelling and the Worldword T.V program, we are able to learn more about literacy skills, phonological sensivity, letter knowloge, comprensión and socioemotional skills.

Professors in training, have to learn more about this useful tool, and also to share about our culture with others and through this develop ideas, stories in a social and individual wau to pu it in practice with our future students and angaged them into the English world.

As future professors, we have to promote all those values, ethics and culture to a better life. Through our own exoeriences, we can foster innovative problema solving. Together a storytelling and listener can seek best practices and invent new solutions.

Phonetics at WordWorld

            The WordWorld program is a new technological tool that helps teachers to teach their students in different aspects such as the phonetic ones. Knowing these aspects and how the program can be used by teachers are important. Also, methods of teaching like phonics are used in this program, making it a very good tool for teaching. Another fact is that, it can be applied in the future at the classrooms changing the traditional way to teach. So, it is a tool that can be useful, and it is good idea learning about it to take advantage of it.

           As we know, Phonetics studies the sounds of the human speech, such as the physical production, the acoustic transmission and also perception of the sounds of speech. And, what this program did was to create a new and an easy way to teach people to learn how to pronounce the words. Taking into account these facts, teachers can use it as a resource to practice after explaining how the sounds are made in our speech apparatus. Also, at the same time that students are practicing, they are developing their listening skill that is important at the moment to recognize words for repetition; also they are obtaining more vocabulary to improve their speech and the way that they can express themselves.

            One of the methods that are used in the program is the phonics that use the phonemic awareness, the reading and writing skills in order to teach the correspondence between these sounds and the spelling form that represent them. The idea of this method is to read a word, spell and then pronounce it. For example, we can find at the videos that were posted, that the characters start with the spelling of a word like T-R-U-C-K, then they put together all the letters to build the word "TRUCK", after that they pronounce each sound of the word, and finally they pronounce all the word. So, these skills are related between them and show the relation that letters and sounds have. Also they show that in order to pronounce a word, we first need to know how to write it.

            Be applying tools like this at classrooms to improve the knowledge of the students in order for them to be able to speak English in a high level is going to be a big change of traditional way to teach that for example in high school where most of the teachers do not care about the pronunciation of the words. Another reason for applying this program at classrooms is that for most students phonetics and phonics are easier to learn if they are having fun. Also, through this tool, students will develop the ability to recognize, identify and manipulate the sequence of sounds represented in words.

            Finally, we can notice, as future English teachers, that it is a good resource to make lessons more interesting and it helps students to practice the sounds. Also, if we take advantages of it, the way that we are going to teach, it is going be easier. It is going to be helpful for students, too, because they are going to have a tool that they can look for on the internet or maybe have it in their cell phones and practiced in every moment by themselves or with a friend. For the moment, it is not a bad idea to practice with these resources, study it and build some words to begin.

Language is more than words

As we know, our brain is a complex organ with a huge capability, in fact, scientists says that we only use it at ten percentage of its capacity. Then, knowing this real fact, as teachers in training, I consider that is a priceless helping hand to reach new levels of knowledge and is the N P L (Neuro Linguistic Programming) an effective solution against this lack of production in our mind. Reinventing the wheel is not necessary (metaphorically talking), but we must think about some adjustments necessary to reach the educational goals in an easier way, with a high level of accuracy and decreasing, as much as, we can mistakes or misunderstandings.   

The Neuro Linguistic Programming is the study of how people can reach the excellence in any kind of field, and how to teach these norms, processes and systems for other people to get the same results, too. The N L P focuses in our experience like individual persons and how we thought depending on our values and believes, and how we build our emotional states. In addition, the N L P is an old branch of the mind´s study, it was born in the sixties as a result of the psychological study made by pioneers like Professor Richard Bandler and Psychologist Richard Bandler, and they started to combine methods and strategies from Psychology, Psychiatry, Gestalt Therapy and Hypnotherapy between others.

As foreign language student, Wordworld offers a combination of color, shape, sound, and motion very attractive specially for children (and no so young, too) because it respects each personality, some people are identified with visual stimulation, others whit sounds and others need to feel the words. In the production of this program they make an effort not leave anything to fate or chance, they consider the shape, color and meaning, of every single piece in scene, with the intention of making the understanding of the stories easier and make the knowledge more effective.

The human language purpose is communication. However, sometimes we try to say something, and we end up, saying a very different thing. The communicative process is complex because unconsciously the body language, the paralanguage and the proximies are having an important in the communicative act. According to N L P in an oral presentation body language represents a 55%, the paralanguage a 38% and the remaining 7% is the words said by us. So, considering these numbers is important to know, as future teachers, how to express our thoughts in the best for that we can because one thing is what we are trying to say and another different thing is what we are really saying.

I consider that it is almost impossible to describe the world´s wonders through the words; nonetheless, there are some people that seem to have a magic touch and are capable of bringing to life the words while they are talking. Now, imagine how wonderful it could be if this magical power were reachable for each English language teacher or student? The N L P is a priceless tool that used correctly, allows us to go faster than ever though the knowledge freeway. The use of old technologies like the TV with pedagogical purposes is admirable and I consider it is an inspiration to continue adopting or innovating with the use of combined materials like Neuro Linguistic producing a new Hip-Hop song used for learning Mathematics and making our lives core comfortable and effective.

The World of Words

               This blog was created with the purpose of sharing the teaching and learning process of English in an easier way for children and young people through the wonderful world of words named WordWorld. It is a T.V program based on building words to make the English learning process very funny, adventurous and colorful. It is time to build a world made up of letters spell the world they represent.

                One of the first means to learn a new word is sound, so this blog will explain to you the right pronunciation in order to name it correctly. A very good reason to sign up with us is to be conscious of the meaning and the several uses and of cause the spelling that each words has.

                This tool can be applied in a classroom to improve the lessons to change the traditional way of teaching making it more modern, funnier and more interesting for children.

                The main idea of this blog is to bring a different approach to the T.V shows for children, when they can teach and be enjoyable at the same time. We believe that through the use of an entertainment tool like the T.V, is possible to call the children attention faster than in a class. The unreal 3D world of WordWorld makes possible to take advantage from Neuro Linguistics advances and improve the way of teaching without the real world´s limitations.

                In addition, we must understand as a smart people we should take advantage of all technology advances and focus it in a educational approach and transforming a waste of time in front of the T.V in an invaluable source of knowledge.
